The Cosmetics Products (Safety) Regulations 2008

Soap is now treated as a Cosmetic and therefore has to comply with safety laws that are in place. These laws are for the safety and protection of consumers to ensure that what you buy has been certified as safe for sale. These laws apply to every company that manufactures cosmetics regardless of their size. The regulations are there to protect the consumer from buying anything that could potentially cause damage.

In accordance with the above regulation:

  • All of our soaps are tested and certified as safe to use by a qualified chemist.

  • Our labeling contains a list of all ingredients in our soaps using their European INCI names, our name and post code, and the weight. All labeling is clear and legible.

  • Every one of our soaps has a batch number. This is a unique number given to each batch of soap that we make, this allows us to record and trace where every ingredient in your product originates from.
